Earnings calculator
Your charger, against the alternatives.
Move the sliders to match how you'd share and how far you drive. See what a year of driving costs four ways, and what sharing brings in.
An estimate based on your inputs, not a guarantee. Actual earnings depend on how often your charger is booked, and fuel and charging prices move.

The £1,000 Trading Allowance
In the UK, the first £1,000 of income each year from trading or services, including renting out an asset like your charger, is generally tax-free under the Trading Allowance. Stay under £1,000 and you usually don't need to do anything. Above it, you'd typically declare via Self Assessment. Thresholds and rules can change, so check the current position with HMRC or an accountant.
You're responsible for your own tax
Splash passes your earnings to your wallet. What happens next is between you and HMRC. Most private hosts aren't VAT-registered and won't need to be at typical earning levels, though that depends on your wider income. If in doubt, talk to an accountant.
This section is general information, not financial or tax advice. Splash's liability is set out in the Terms and Conditions. Always check with a qualified accountant for your circumstances.
